Gaumer Process, a technology leader in electric heaters, today announced the successful testing of its medium voltage
subsea heaters to 5000 psi (11,250 feet water depth).
"Gaumer subsea heaters enable an immediate oil containment solution", said Craig Tiras, P.E., vice president of engineering
at Gaumer Process. "Our heaters operate at 4160 volts to raise the temperature of deepwater containment equipment so hydrates
cannot form. This ensures that hydrocarbons can flow to storage ships on the surface.
Benefits include:
- Immediate deployment and containment
- Success without a seabed seal
- Environmentally friendly - eliminates use of toxic agents
"As subsea exploration goes deeper, Gaumer's superior heating technology, expertise and innovation becomes key
for successful containment", said Dorothy Matchett, strategic subsea sales manaager at Cooper Interconnect.
"We are excited to be working with Gaumer."
