Founded in 1962 by John F. Gaumer, P.E., the Gaumer Company started as a technical sales Organization
selling electric process heaters and controls. The Company was reorganized in 1974, by Jack McClanahan, P.E.,
and quickly became the largest distributor of Process Electric Heaters in the Southwest Region
of the United States.
By 1982, Gaumer Company had developed its own line of Process Heaters, Controls and Systems.
Gaumer is known for innovation after releasing many industry firsts, including: illuminated manual reset button for heater over
temperature, standardizing on rugged Incoloy 800 industrial heating elements, hot oil system with buffer tank and self venting
design, and external heat sinks on heater control panels.
During 1984, Gaumer established a repair department to repair all manufacturers' process heaters. The Company expanded its engineering, research and development, manufacturing and marketing
capabilities with worldwide coverage through select Manufacturer's Representatives. Facility size is doubled.
In 2005, Gaumer was awarded its first U.S. Patent for Infi-Seal® electric heater moisture protection - making the MgO hydrophobic.
U.S. Patents followed for a Renewalable Standoff Heater Housing, Electroclean® optimized fuel gas conditioning system, and most importantly
4160 Volt MV SeriesTM Electric Resistance Heaters.
Beginning of 2009, Jack McClanahan retired as President. Gaumer added a 50,000 sq.ft. additional manufacturing building. Innovation continues with a U.S. Patent filing for Angled TurbulatorsTM
for gas heating optimization.
During 2010, Gaumer designs and manufactures fuel gas conditioning systems for multiple turbine manufacturers. Gaumer applies 4160 Volt heater knowledge to the subsea market for hydrate prevention.
On behalf of our employees, we are eager to listen to all ideas and welcome your feedback.
Jeff McClanahan
